DOMENICO SILVARI Peacefully on August 31, 2011 at the Pinawa Hospital, Domenico Silvari passed away at the age of 84 years. Domenico was predeceased by his first wife Elda Silvari; his parents Antonio and Maria Silvari; sisters Domenica, Maria, and brother Giacomo. He is survived by his children Bruno (Sheila), Tony (Bonnie), Cristina, Marcello, Johnny (Ingrid); brothers Ignazio (Ornella), Antonio (Anne), Mario (Faye); brother-in-law Dante Speranza, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; his wife Patricia and her family; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Digniano, Provincia Pola, Italy, now Croatia Vodinjan and immigrated to Canada in 1953. He was employed by the Canadian National Railway until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed his cottage at Lee River and the times he spent with family and friends; fishing, boating, playing bean bags, cards and bocce. He especially enjoyed his morning coffee at The Club with his brothers. Some of his favourite pastimes included floor curling, floor shuffle and watching wrestling on TV. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Reverend Father Renato Pasinato celebrant. Interment in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be his eight grandchildren, Danielle, Anthony, Angie, Diane, Jaime, Shane, Shawn and Chad. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Richard Van Gend and the nursing staff at the Pinawa Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.
